Brian Tang, (BMusA), is an accomplished pianist and dedicated educator with over 15 years of piano experience. Working towards his Licentiate Diploma (LMusA) He is the 2025 Joy Ingall Scholar for Music Studies and 2026 John Cormack Sinclair Scholar for Pianists at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music and has won multiple Eisteddfod championships and awards across Newcastle, Sydney and the Surrounding Regions including accolades for both solo and ensemble performances. Brian has performed in a variety of prestigious settings, from Newcastle and Sydney Conservatorium, the Sydney Opera House to community halls in nursing homes and retirement villages, consistently receiving high praise for his technical skill, musicality, and expressive interpretations.
From 2021 to 2025, Brian taught at Sydney’s leading music school, Con Brio School of Music, working with over 100 students aged 3 to 18. He has successfully guided students through AMEB exams from Preliminary levels to Diplomas with outstanding results of High Distinctions (A+) and Distinctions (A).
He is now expanding his piano teaching base in his hometown Newcastle, bringing the expertise and experience gained from his success in Sydney back to the city where his piano journey began.
Sean Tang, Certificate of Performance (CMusA-AMEB), is an accomplished pianist and dedicated educator with an extensive performance and teaching background. He has won multiple Eisteddfod championships and awards across Newcastle, Sydney, and the greater New South Wales region, earning recognition for his expressive interpretations of both classical and contemporary repertoire. Sean has performed in prestigious recitals at the Sydney Conservatorium and the Sydney Opera House, as well as at regional music festivals and national competitions, consistently receiving high praise from adjudicators and audiences alike.
From 2024 to 2025, Sean taught at the National Music Academy, mentoring students from beginner to advanced levels and preparing them for AMEB examinations and public performances. He has successfully guided students to achieve distinctions and high distinctions in AMEB practical and theory exams, while nurturing confidence, musicality, and technical skill. Sean’s teaching style combines precision, creativity, and expressive musical interpretation, inspiring students to achieve excellence and a lifelong appreciation for piano.
During the first ten years, Brian has transformed from a dedicated young student in Newcastle into a highly accomplished pianist. Early in his journey, he focused on building a solid technical foundation and exploring a broad range of classical repertoire. Within a few years, he began participating in local and regional competitions, earning recognition in Eistedfods across Newcastle and Sydney.
This ten year journey has not only shaped Brian’s abilities as a performer but has also laid the foundation for his career as a respected piano teacher, combining performance experience with a deep understanding of how to guide students toward their own musical milestones.
